Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The ethics statements of the Journal of Athletic Performance and Sports Medicine (JAPSM) are based on the Code of Conduct guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at www.publicationethics.org.  JAPSM follows the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, and Core Practices, and aims to adhere to its Best Practice Guidelines. As a strong JAPSM scientific community (i.e., the publisher, editors, authors, and reviewers) we all are obliged to comply with these ethical practices.

Editorial Policies

The policies of the journal are based on the guidelines set forth by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. The journal follows the code on good publication practice, “Core Practice,” set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (http://publicationethics.org/).

Editorial Independence

Journal of Athletic Performance and Sports Medicine is published by Athletic Performance Coaches Association of Turkey (APCA). APCA grants editorial freedom to the Editor of the journal.

Open Access Policy

All research articles published in Journal of Athletic Performance and Sports Medicine are freely and permanently accessible online. The authors retain the copyright for their published work.

Authors

Authors are responsible for their contributions to the journal. Contributions must be meaningful and scientifically sound. All authors must contribute to the design, performance, analysis, and reporting of the manuscript.

Authors must obtain ethics committee approval and informed patient consent for any experimental use of a novel procedure or tool where a clear clinical advantage based on clinical need was not apparent before treatment.

The corresponding author, must declare, also on behalf of the other authors, the existence or otherwise of financial connections (consultancies, ownership of shares, patents, etc.) that might constitute a potential conflict of interest in relation to the subject matter of the article. In the case of existence of any such financial connections, the authors concerned must declare them in a brief but complete definition at the end of the article, before the references.

If no conflict of interest exists the corresponding Author should type: "Each author declares that he or she has no commercial associations (e.g. consultancies, stock ownership, equity interest, patent/licensing arrangement etc.) that might pose a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted article".

Without these declarations the submission process cannot progress.

Journal of Athletic Performance and Sports Medicine permits only one corresponding author per manuscript submission. This Author is solely responsible for all correspondence with the the editorial team of the journal and will receive all emails regarding forms, authorship issues, manuscript files, etc.
